A Mantle Of Charity Thrown Over The Failures Of Other Men, 1991
This work was part of the Beyond Belief exhibition curated by Rupert Jenkins for SF Camerawork in 1991.
The installation surrounds the viewer with dark red walls, inviting them to kneel in order to view two of the three images. The two images veiled are ‘Guilt (after Fragonard)’ and ‘Seven Deadly Sins’ and ‘Judgement’ is always visible is not draped. The title is taken from Catholsim scripture and speaks to the religious dogma during many people to behave a certain way.
